Please describe what happened. My daughter got the mrsa and another infection 3 days after surgery. She was tested for mrsa before she had the surgery. She had a knee replacement. She had a transfusion the day after surgery and then started to run a fever. They moved her to rehab with a fever. Two days later her fever reached 103.9, back to the hospital. She had a second surgery to scrap the infected area and took out a plastic part and replaced it. They had a tube coming out of her wound to drain the infection. Four days later another surgery. She’s back at rehab. She goes back to the doctor on Tuesday April 10th, 2018. We find out if she has to have another surgery. They will have to remove the staples since it’s been 3 weeks. They might have to take all the parts out, in order for the infection to heal. We’ve been told that it could take up to six months for everything to heal and then they start over. She will not be able to walk. She will lose her bedroom at assistant living because they won’t get paid and they can’t take care of her. Tell me if any of this is fair. She also has a pick line for the two antibiotics, she’ll have this for at least 6 more weeks. That’s another reason she can’t go home. When her 30 days is up she might get kicked out of rehab. None of this is her fault but she is the one going through all the pain and the stress of what’s going to happen to her. Thank you.
